Hi team, today marks the start of Long Way Home, the very special ‘pulk pull’ which is part of this year’s Walking Home for Christmas event.
Teams are setting off from the Cenotaph in London, pulling a sled (‘pulk’), on a journey north through Manchester and on to Newcastle. Covering 40km a day, they’re revisiting our roots as a nod to our 2011 North Pole expedition.
Just as the pulk carries the load, we are all raising money to ensure we can continue providing vital support to veterans as they face physical, mental and social challenges on their transition back to civilian life.
Already, this Christmas, over 775 walkers have signed up, and together you’ve raised over £60,000 for veterans and their families, which is an incredible achievement.
Let's keep going team and see if we can raise a few more pennies before we join them on 20th . . .
