About Walking Home
Why do we walk?
Winter, and Christmas, can be a difficult time for those who are struggling and for the veterans we support, especially so.
Walking Home, for over 10 years, has been a connector of communities the length and breadth of the UK, helping to reignite a veterans sense of purpose. We believe that those who served, deserve. With your help, your walk and your fundraising, we can deliver vital and life-changing support to the ex-Armed Forces community.
“It's worth remembering that it is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change".
HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Why be a part of Walking Home?
Our goal is to do good, walk hard and raise money to help the veterans we support. Make this the December where you challenge yourself with friends, colleagues and loved ones to get out together in nature and make a difference.
You’ll feel better. Study after study shows the positive benefits of being out in nature.
You’ll reforge old connections and keep existing ones strong by getting your team together.
You'll be the focal point for your family, friends and colleagues’ charity activities this December.
You’ll support ex-servicemen and women who’ve walked in far more dangerous places for us.
What are the benefits?
Resilience
Taking on a challenge whatever the weather – put in perspective by the experiences of our ex-military.
Friendship
It’s the perfect excuse to call old friends and have a shared adventure.
Networking
Spend time with people you need to spend time with while doing good.
Fitness
Have a goal in the diary to boost your fitness regime or kickstart a new fitness journey.
Mental Health
Walking can improve your well-being, relieve anxiety and depression and spark creativity.
Promotion
Use it as a tool to engage staff or customers and show your company's support for ex-military.
There's also the Covenant...
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation ensuring those who serve or who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
By taking part in Walking Home you are showing your support and if you can get your employer or organisation involved it is a simple way for them to activate or start their commitment to the covenant and work towards their bronze, silver or gold employer recognition awards.
