RAF veteran takes on 100 mile Peak District walk

Jack Roberts, an RAF Veteran from Macclesfield, is walking 100 miles through the Peak District between November 11th and December 11th.

During his time in the RAF, Jack completed two tours in Afghanistan in 2009 and 2011 as a Force Protection member of the Medical Emergency Response Team. Following harrowing experiences, he was diagnosed with PTSD and received critical support from Walking With The Wounded.

From London to Dumfries, the care staff Walking Home For Christmas

Workers from the UK’s largest online care platform Curam put their best feet forward on December 11, raising vital funds for veterans’ charity Walking With The Wounded as part of its Walking Home For Christmas campaign.

The national sponsored event, which is now in its 10th year, involved teams from the care company’s London and Dumfries offices, who collectively clocked up a total of 50 miles as one of 154 teams taking part.

Staff in east London carried out individual walks, including Curam co-founder Patrick Wallace, who walked from the company’s office in Ashwin Street, Dalston, to Hammersmith. Tidworth Royal British Legion Football team taking on 245-mile challenge

The Tidworth Royal British Legion Football Team is embarking on a 245-mile walking challenge on December 14th and 15th. Their goal is to raise funds for those who have served.

During the event, each team, comprised of serving personnel, veterans, and children of serving soldiers from Wellington Academy in Ludgershall, will undertake continuous laps of a 400-metre circuit over 36 hours.
