Dan Searson to walk 60km across Greater Manchester in 24 hours

Dan Searson, founder of Challenge The Wild, who is based in Greater Manchester, will take on a 60km walk on the 12th and 13th December to support veterans this Christmas.
Dan served as an Army Officer in the Royal Army Medical Corps, during which time he was deployed to the Balkans, East Africa and the Middle East. He was awarded several British Army Commendations during his service.
Challenge The Wild is an outdoor based company that specialises in providing events that are unique, raises profiles, improves the physical and mental well-being of participants, and builds exceptional teams. Dan has supported Walking With The Wounded for many years, delivering numerous fundraising events and supporting the charity's beneficiaries through a programme of Adventure Retreats.
Commenting on his Walking Home For Christmas challenge, Dan said, “I am very proud to be a Military Ambassador for Walking With The Wounded. I share the same values as the charity and am passionate about supporting them and the veteran community. Being outdoors has so many benefits for a person’s physical and mental well-being and is a powerful tool in recovery.
To support Walking Home for Christmas, I will be walking 60Km over a 24-hour period across Greater Manchester. During the walk, I will visit veterans in need, grab a brew and hear their stories, and deliver Christmas gifts, kindly donated by local retailers. We can all make a difference to the lives of others. I hope my efforts can bring a little Christmas cheer to those who need it.”

From London to Dumfries, the care staff Walking Home For Christmas

Workers from the UK’s largest online care platform Curam put their best feet forward on December 11, raising vital funds for veterans’ charity Walking With The Wounded as part of its Walking Home For Christmas campaign.
The national sponsored event, which is now in its 10th year, involved teams from the care company’s London and Dumfries offices, who collectively clocked up a total of 50 miles as one of 154 teams taking part.
Staff in east London carried out individual walks, including Curam co-founder Patrick Wallace, who walked from the company’s office in Ashwin Street, Dalston, to Hammersmith. And the Scottish team, headed by Curam director Ben Weatherall, clocked up 12 miles with their countryside walk in Irongray, Dumfries.
